The Impact of People Pleasing

You feel like nobody goes out of their way to treat you the way you try to treat them. You’re tired of trying to be all things to all people and feel ready to start becoming something to yourself. You may be feeling more tired than usual. And perhaps have even noticed how pleasing others has become like an addiction you can’t stop. You seem to get a high from seeing others happy, knowing that you were responsible for that happiness. But you also rarely speak up for what you truly want b/c others “should innately know” and/or you’ve lost sight of what you want b/c it always depends on who you’re with and what they want. You naturally put others before yourself and are now realizing that you’ve gotten lost in your own life.

How to Stop People Pleasing

First it’s about getting to the root of why you’re a “people-pleaser” and then taking risks to get outside your comfort zone by exploring helpful tools to:

  1. Define your wants

  2. make yourself your priority

  3. Find your voice

  4. Determine your needs within relationships

  5. Express yourself

  6. create your ideal life

And start pleasing yourself:

I know the thought of letting go of the way you’ve always been might seem impossible, but it’s not. You can do this! Through practice you can create the life you’ve always envisioned for yourself.
